Download the Membership Application Form (PDF for printing or MS Word for electronic submission), complete/sign it and return to the Treasurer with your Subscription (2018–19 fees are £32 for Full Members and £29 for Concessionary Members, or £15 and £12 respectively for those already belonging to Mountaineering Scotland through individual or alternative club memberships) at the address given.
When we receive your completed Membership Form and Subscription you will be added to the Club Members group on the Forum (assuming you've registered there, which you can do without joining), but please note that you must agree to the Participation Statement from the Club Constitution (Clause 2: Objects) quoted on the form and sharing of your membership details with MCofS before we can process your application.
The Club shall be called The Polldubh Club (hereinafter referred to as the Club).
The Objects of the Club shall be to promote all mountain activities in the Lochaber area and beyond, including (but not limited to) hill walking and running — summer and winter; rambling; scrambling; climbing — trad, sport, bouldering, winter and indoor; skiing — downhill, touring and ski mountaineering; snowboarding; mountain biking; conservation work in Glen Nevis.
To meet these Objects, the Club will organise meets in various venues throughout the year which are detailed on the Club website.
The Club endorses the Participation Statement agreed by the Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA):
'The Polldubh Club recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.'
The Club shall affiliate annually to Mountaineering Scotland.
The Club shall hold an Annual General Meeting in November or December to:
An Extraordinary General Meeting shall be called by an application in writing to the Secretary supported by at least 25% of the membership. The Committee shall also have the power to call an Extraordinary General Meeting by decision of a simple majority of its members.
At least 21 days notice shall be given to all voting members of any General Meeting.
The quorum at General Meetings shall be 25% of the membership and the quorum for Committee Meetings shall be more than half of the Committee members.
The Committee shall have the power to publish and enforce such Bylaws as the membership feels necessary to govern the activities of the Club.
The Committee shall operate a fair system for deciding upon the expulsion of a Member as laid down by the 'Law of Natural Justice'.
In the event of the dissolution of the Club, any assets thereof shall not be distributed amongst the members of the Club in any way whatsoever.
